Crystalens for Cataracts

The Crystalens is a cataract implant that is accommodative. This unique feature provides after-cataract patients with clear distance vision without glasses, as well as a range of near vision without reading glasses.The implant best approximates the visual acuity and funtion of the young eye.

Nashua Eye Goes Digital!

Nashua Eye has adopted fully electronic health records to better provide quality and efficient eye care. The transition has occurred behind the scenes for more than two years, as all the complex diagnostic and treatment tools have been configured to "talk" to each other and the health record. At long last, we "went live" in March.

Electronic health records promise many advantages to our patients. Easily legible records can be viewed simultaneously by different doctors of different specialties in different locations to "conference" on a patient's best treatment. Digital records are always available in each of our offices for each patient, eliminating problematic "transfers" of paper charts between offices. After hours and weekend eye problems can be better addressed by the on-call doctor who can view electronic records off site. Some studies show electronic records reduce office transcription errors. Improved and faster communication with patients' primary care doctors and other specialists promises to improve care.

As always, our records are kept to the highest standards of security, privacy, and confidentiality. As we make this transition, we appreciate your patience as invariably bumps in the road will come with change. We are excited to finally see real benefits to patient care come to fruition!
