Nashua Eye is proud to offer the services of Dr. Katrinka Heher and Dr. Alison Callahan, oculoplastics specialists. Both Dr. Heher and Dr. Callahan are American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship trained physicians, specializing in functional and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids and eye sockets. Additionally, both Dr. Heher and Dr. Callahan take time to come to Nashua from their faculty positions at Tufts New England Eye Center.
Dr. Heher and Dr. Callahan examine and treat patients with diseases of the orbit (the bone around the eye, as well as the tissue behind the eye). This complex anatomic space includes important nerves, vessels and muscles, and can be disturbed by infection, inflammation, and tumor. Our oculoplastics specialists treat functional eyelid problems such as entropion or ectropion, where the eyelid fails to adequately protect the surface of the eye. They also treat upper lid ptosis where the upper lid droops and blocks vision. Dr. Heher and Dr. Callahan diagnose and treat diseases of the tear or “lacrimal” gland as well as the lacrimal drainage system for tearing problems.
Both Dr. Heher and Dr. Callahan have extensive experience performing many cosmetic rejuvenation procedures. An upper and lower lid blepharoplasty enhances and refreshes the appearance of the eyelids. Botox injections treat the wrinkles in the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes. Multiple different kinds of fillers are available to fill in hollowing in the cheeks, along the folds extending from the nose to the mouth and the jowl area.
Conveniently, both Dr. Heher and Dr. Callahan operate at the Nashua Eye Surgery Center.
